Fencing Introduction

Fencing is a uniquely classic sport. Fencing exercises both mind and body. Fencing involves the analysis of strategy, tactics and psychological control, as well as developing coordination, dexterity, fitness, strength and balance. Fencing has the history, drama, romance, style, art, plus all the advantages of an active physically demanding sport. Fencing is also fast and athletic, a far cry from the choreographed bouts you see on film or on the stage. Instead of swinging from a leaping from balconies, you will see two fencers performing an intense dance on a six foot by 40 foot strip.

Fencing played with modern techniques and with modern equipment. Fencing is much familiar between people especially in Olympics and people enjoyed that game very much. In fencing there are three weapons are used in Olympics named Foil, Sabre, and Epee.

Foil
Foil is one of the light thrusting weapons that target the torso, and it includes the back but not the arms. If a person hit his opponent with the side then the score will not be count but if he hits with its tips then a person gets a score. Only a single hit can be scored by either fencer at one time. When both fencers hit at the same time, the referee uses the rules of “right of way” and then determines which fencer gets the point.

Sabre
Sabre is a light cutting and thrusting weapon that targets the whole body above the waist but it does not include the hands. If a person hits with a tip or with the side, in both cases point will be given to hitter. "Right of way" applies only one fencer can score at a time.

Épée
Épée is a heavy thrusting weapon that targets the entire body. Point will be given if a hitter hits with tips and if hitter hits by side then no point will be given. Right of way" does not apply in this scenario.
